4.5 Requirements for Operating Personnel
The operating personnel of this ergometer have to :
- be properly instructed and trained regarding the operation of the ergometer,
- have full command regarding the handling of the device,
- be aware of the applicable safety requirements for the operation of such devices,
and act accordingly (see Chap. „Introduction“),
- be informed regarding additional regulations, e.g. safety regulations,
- be informed regarding potential hazard and risk arising from the operation of such
devices.
4.6 Safety and Device Protecting Features
The device is equipped with the following safety and device protecting features :
- High current protection which prevents damage to the device and potential danger to
persons, e.g. in case of short circuit.
4.7 Measurement Accuracy Verification
Maintenance: The ergometrics 800S bicycle ergometer must be regularly inspected
and maintained, in time intervals of two years, in accordance with lawful regulations.
Alterations to the ergometer’s measurement capabilities are cause for re-certification.
4.7.1 Load Unit Inspection
EC-Directive 93/42/EEC operator regulations require qualified technical maintenance
of the load unit at two years intervals. This is to be performed by an ergoline authorized
service technician.
4.8 Cleaning
The unit and related accessories should be regularly cleaned, if necessary daily.
Note: Important !! Be sure to disconnect the power cord prior to cleaning the
unit.
4.8.a. Cleaning the Unit
Use a soft cloth moistened with a mild cleanser to wipe off the unit as needed. Ensure
that the cloth is not fully saturated. This may allow liquid to enter the unit and cause a
defect.
!Attention! Do not use strong household cleaners or disinfectants to clean the unit.
This may damage the unit’s finish and lead to defects.
Note: Defects caused by improper cleaners and disinfectants as well as defects
originating from insufficient cleaning of the unit are excluded from the
guarantee.
