Thyristor protection
Thyristor protection
The thyristors in the APC-TF series controllers are protected in the following way:
· external high speed fuses against over-currents (except for short-wave infrared applications)
· RC snubbers and MOVs (varistors) protect against over-fast voltage variations and transient
over-voltages when the thyristors are not conducting.

If failure happens of the SCR, must be change to compatible maker’s.
To control the thyristors in the APC-TF series, 3 SCRs and bus-bar must be used.
Details of these are given in the following table for compatible maker.
Maximum operating voltage for THYSISTOR : 1600V (line-to-line).
