APC-TF Series MAINTENANCE
Thyristor protection
Thyristor protection
The thyristors in the APC-TF series controllers are protected in the following way:
· external high speed fuses against over-currents (except for short-wave infrared applications)
· RC snubbers and MOVs (varistors) protect against over-fast voltage variations and transient
over-voltages when the thyristors are not conducting.
*** MOVs (varistors) install : Optional

* Recommended high-speed fuses for thyristor protection
DANGER!
High-speed fuses are used only for the protection of thyristors against large amplitude
overloads.
Under no circumstances should these high-speed fuses be used to protect the installation.
Attention!
For the use of high-speed fuses in short-wave infrared applications,

Controls.
To protect the thyristors in the APC-TF series, 3 fuses and bus-bar must be used.
Details of these are given in the following table.
Maximum operating voltage for fuses: 500V to 660V (line-to-line).
