8• ASSEMBLY - DISASSEMBLE - ACCESS TO COMPONENTS
Take care to not get your fingers jammed between the belt
and the pulley.
• Reposition your hands as indicated on picture 19 and continue to
turn the pulley until the belt become totally disengaged.
Take care to not get your fingers jammed when the tension
pulley come against the angle drive gear entry pulley.
• Place the outer wheels of the cutting enclosure in the highest
position (picture 20).
• Remove the four ringed pins of the cutting enclosure fixing handles
on the front arms of the cutting height (picture 21).
• Take off the retaining springs from the fixing hooks of the cutting
enclosure on the rear arms (1 picture 22). Use a backward turning
motion to take the hooks off their fastening pins (2 picture 22).
• Bring the cutting deck forward to clear the ejection channel.
• Take the cutting system out of the mower from the left-hand side.
For the rebuilding on the machine, proceed the same way but reverse
the process. However be very carefully and take care of the following :
a) When replacing the cutting deck under the machine, make sure
that the lateral tightness plates are outside the ejection channel and
that the superior flap rests on the cutting deck in order to keep the
maximum grass collecting rate.
b) By using a tool as lever blocked in the hooks support (a picture
23) and by lifting slightly the cutting deck, bring the rear cut-
ting height arms on the hooks (b picture 23) until the hooks are
blocked.
8•11•2 CHANGING THE CUTTING PARTS (BLADES)
H124DN - H124DX
IMPORTANT !
Before any work on the cutting system,
first stop the engine and remove the ignition key. Use the
circuit-breaker to turn off the electric supply. Close the
hand brake. Protect your hands with gloves.
• The blades can be checked and removed from the removable parts
on either side of the cutting enclosure.
- Release the clamping devices item 6 page 11.
- Loosen the toggle fasteners item 7 page 11.
- Remove the retracting parts item 8 page 11 by pulling firmly on
the tube.
• To change the cutting parts, the ideal solution is to remove the
cutting system (see removing the cutting system).
• Block the blade and use the hex key supplied with your mower to
unscrew the central screw of the blade complete with coupling.
IMPORTANT ! The right-hand blade fixing screw has a left-hand
thread.
CAUTION ! The turning of one blade causes the turning of the
other.
• Each time you remove the blade (ref. MZ124R/L), replace the
spring washer (ref. 71052) located under the head of the blade
screw.
• Before putting the blade back in place, check the condition of the
couplings (ref. 30442), key (ref. 71451), shearing screws (ref.
26157) and retaining washers (ref. 29650).
• Before putting back the blade couplings, make sure you lubricate
the ends of the blade shafts.
• Tighten the blade screws to 50 Nm.
• Check that the blades are indexed to 90° in relation to one another.
8•11•3 CHANGING THE CUTTING PARTS (BLADES)
H124DL
• To change the cutting parts, the ideal solution is to remove the
cutting system (see removing the cutting system).

blade drive shafts.
• Tighten the blade screws to 50 Nm.
• Check that the blades are indexed to 90° in relation to one another.
8•11•4 REPLACING THE SHEAR BOLTS
• Block the blade in a vice and unfasten the nuts.
• Check the condition of the coupling before putting in new screws
and nuts.
• Make sure that you do not tighten the nuts excessively. Use a
tightening torque of 8 Nm.
• The shearing screws must be replaced each time the blade is
replaced.
