Loosen the screw for starter lock
wire.

Remove the upper portion of the
starter lock wire.
④
Remove the lower portion of the
starter lock wire.
⑤
Remove the bolts (3cps). and re-
move the recoil starter assembly.
◎
Confirm that the shift lever is at
neutral position.
◎
Wrap a rope around the starter pul-
ley then pull quickly to start.
◎
Use a 10 mm socket wrench as a
rope handle.
◎
Reinstall top cowl after engine
starts.

Be sure that no bystander(s) is
within 2 meters from back of starting
operator.
●
Do not operate the outboard motor
with top cowl removed from the
power unit, or contacting turning
flywheel which can lead to serious
personal injury.
!
Be careful that your clothes or other
items do not get caught in the rotating
engine parts.
To prevent accident and injury, do not
re-attach the recoil starter after the
engine has been started using the
emergency starter rope. Be sure to put
the top cowl back on.
Immediately contact an authorized
dealer when reaching shore.
