2.Checkwithenginecold.
3.Cleanareaarounddipstick.Removedipstick
andwipeoiloff.Reinsertthedipstickaccording
totheenginemanufacturer'srecommendations.
Removethedipstickandreadtheoillevel.
4.Iftheoillevelislow,wipeofftheareaaroundthe
oilllcap,removecapandlltothe“FULL”
markonthedipstick.Exmark4-CyclePremium

ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseor
daily—Checktheblades
forwearordamage.
Whenthecuttingbladesareworndownandno
longerfunctioningproperly,replacethem,asfollows:
Important:Performthisprocedurewhenthe
fueltankisemptyornearlyempty.
1.Stopengine,waitforallmovingpartstostop,and
removesparkplugwire.Engageparkingbrake.
2.Drainthegasolinefromthefueltank.Referto
EmptyingtheFuelTanksection.
3.Removethefourbolts,lockwashers,andtwo
spacerssecuringthebeltcovertotheleftsideof
themachineandremovethecover.
4.Removethebladedrivebeltfromthemachine.
5.Tiltthemachinerearwarduntiltheupperhandle
restsonthegroundandplaceajackstandunder
theunit.
Note:Itwilltaketwopeopletotipthemachine
rearwardsafely.
CAUTION
Raisingtheunitforserviceormaintenance
relyingsolelyonmechanicalorhydraulic
jackscouldbedangerous.Themechanicalor
hydraulicjacksmaynotbeenoughsupport
ormaymalfunctionallowingtheunittofall,
whichcouldcauseinjury.
DoNotrelysolelyonmechanicalorhydraulic
jacksforsupport.Useadequatejackstands
orequivalentsupport.
6.Lowerthecuttingbladestothelowestposition.
7.Spinthecuttingbladeassembly.Itshouldspin
freely.Ifitmakeagrindingnoiseandishalting,
thebearingsareworn;replacethemwhenthe
bladesarereplaced.
8.Inspectthebladesfordamageandwearand
replaceasrequired.
DANGER
Awornordamagedbladecanbreak.A
pieceofthebladecouldbethrownintothe
operator’sorbystander’sarea,resultingin
seriouspersonalinjuryordeath.
•Inspectthebladeperiodicallyforwearor
damage.
•Replaceawornordamagedblade.
9.Removethefourcarriageboltsandlocknuts
securingthecuttingbladeassembly(see
Figure12)andremoveitfromthemachine
mountingbracket.
