3.Closethefuelvalve.
4.Disconnectthefuellinebylooseningthetube
clampatthecarburetor.
5.Openthefuelvalvebyturningthelevertothe
openposition.
6.Drainthegasolinecompletelyfromthetankand
fuellineintoanapprovedfuelcontainer.
7.Removethefueltankfromthemachine.
8.Closethefuelvalve.
9.Pourasmallamountoffuelinthefueltank,move
thefuelaroundinthetank,andpouritoutinto
anapprovedfuelcontainer.
10.Installthefueltankandfuelline.
Adjustments
Note:Shutoffengine,waitforallmovingpartsto
stop,andremovesparkplugwirebeforeservicing,
cleaning,ormakinganyadjustmentstotheunit.
CAUTION
Raisingtheunitforserviceormaintenance
relyingsolelyonmechanicalorhydraulic
jackscouldbedangerous.Themechanicalor
hydraulicjacksmaynotbeenoughsupportor
maymalfunctionallowingtheunittofall,which
couldcauseinjury.
DoNotrelysolelyonmechanicalorhydraulic
jacksforsupport.Useadequatejackstandsor
equivalentsupport.
AdjustingtheSelf-Propel
Drive
Ifthemachinecreepseitherforwardorrearward
whentheengineisonandthetractioncontrolleveris
inneutral,completethefollowingprocedure:
1.Stopengine,waitforallmovingpartstostop,and
removesparkplugwire.
2.Raisethecuttingbladestothehighestposition.
3.Squeezetheself-propelbailtothehandleuntil
thetransmissionisfullystroked.
•Ifthebailcontactsthehandle,releasethebail.
Loosenthetopadjustmentnutoneturnand
tightenthebottomadjustmentnut.Squeeze
thebailtothehandle.Repeatthisstepuntil
thereisagap(upto1/8inch(3.2mm))
betweentheself–propelbailandthehandle.
