1.Stopengine,waitforallmovingpartstostop,and
removesparkplugwire.Engageparkingbrake.
2.Removethetransmissionfromtheunit.
3.Carefullycleanareaaroundtheexpansiontank
andoilllport.Itisimportantthatnodirtor
contaminationenterhydraulicsystem.
4.Removeandretaintheoilllportttingand
positionthetransmissionsotheoilwilldrain
completelyoutofthehousing.
5.Whenalltheoilhasdrainedfromthetransaxle,
removeandretainthe#10-32x1/2inch
self-tappingscrewandratchetfastenerholding
theexpansiontanktothehousing.
6.Removetheexpansiontankanddraintheoil.
Note:DoNotremovetheventcapfromthe
tank.
Note:DoNotremovethetankhoseoro-ring
unlessareplacementisneeded.
7.Reinstalltheexpansiontankbyrstinsertingthe
hoseintothetank.Placethetankopeningover
theo-ringandpushdowntoensureaproperseal.
Installthe#10–32x1/2inchselftappingscrew
andtorqueto25in-lb(2.8N-m).
8.Fillthetransaxle,attheoilllport,untiltheoil
levelis1/2–11/4inches(13–32mm)belowthe
topofthellport.
ExmarkPremiumHydroOilisrecommended.
Mobil115W50isanacceptablealternative.
9.Reinstalltheoilllporttting.

isinstalled.
1.Stopengine,waitforallmovingpartstostop.
2.Waitformufertocool.
3.Ifanybreaksinthescreenorweldsareobserved,
replacearrester.
4.Ifpluggingofthescreenisobserved,remove
arresterandshakelooseparticlesoutofthe
arresterandcleanscreenwithawirebrush(soak
insolventifnecessary).Reinstallarresteron
exhaustoutlet.
ChecktheSeedGate
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
1.Stopengine,waitforallmovingpartstostop,and
removesparkplugwire.Engageparkingbrake.
2.Checktoverifytheseedgatemovesfreelyand
isclearofdebris.Ifnecessary,cleanthegate
assembly(seeCleaningtheSeedGateinthe
Cleaningsection).
3.Iftheseedgatedoesnotopentothestop,when
theseedercontrolleverisintheOnposition,
cleanthegateassembly(seeCleaningtheSeed
GateintheCleaningsection).
ThreadLockingAdhesives
Threadlockingadhesivessuchas“Loctite242”
or“Fel-Pro,Pro-LockNutType”areusedonthe
followingfasteners:
Clutchretainingboltinendofenginecrankshaft.
Allsetscrews.
EmptyingtheFuelTank
ServiceInterval:Asrequired
1.Stoptheengineandwaitforittocooldown.
Engageparkingbrake.
