Backflow Preventer Maintenance
The strainer portion of the backflow preventer must be removed and cleaned on an annual basis. To clean the
device, turn off the water supply and unscrew the filter housing as shown in the figure. Clean any debris and
replace the strainer. Turn the water supply back on when finished.
Rear seal
Front of barrel with faceplate and
beater bar removed
Unscrew cap and remove strainer to clean
