3.0 WIRING THE IDU
See Table 1 for information regarding external wiring, jumpers, LEDs, etc.
3.1 Signaling Line Circuits
A. Class A, Style 6, 4-Wire Wiring Instructions
Connect an EOL-E End of Line device on Terminals 2 and 3 or 6 and 7, depending on the appropriate
circuit.
Connect field wiring to the addressable initiating/control devices as shown in Figure 3.
Be sure to observe polarity.
Maximum allowable resistance in the field wiring is 40 ohms per circuit including sub-loops and remote
zone modules. Use untwisted, unshielded pair cable.
Maximum capacitance 0.2 uf.

W1 Factory use. (OUT )
W2 3-pin (2 position) CPM Degrade operation:
Jumper OUT - Modules do not energize
Jump pins 1, 2 - Modules energize, can be silenced
Jump pins 2, 3 - Modules energize, cannot be silenced.
LEDs
Loop 1 Trouble Yellow Lights to indicate trouble in Signaling Line Circuit 1.
Loop 1 Alarm Red Lights to indicate alarm in Signaling Line Circuit 1.
Loop 2 Trouble Yellow Lights to indicate trouble in Signaling Line Circuit 2.
Loop 2 Alarm Red Lights to indicate alarm in Signaling Line Circuit 2.
SWITCHES
SW-1 rotary 16-position address switch
DISCONNECT (SW-2) 2-pos. slide Disconnect/walk test switch for Signaling Line Circuit 1.
DISCONNECT (SW-3) 2-pos. slide Disconnect/walk test switch for Signaling Line Circuit 2.

Communication from J4 of previous unit to J4 of next unit.
