Check all suction connections, ensuring rubber seals are in good condition and greased before replacing clamps, as sucking air in suction lines can be a cause. Soft water or too much agitation can also lead to foaming, so try slowing the agitator. Other potential causes include worn nozzles (clean or replace them), using certain fertilizers (change the type), or clutch slippage. In this case readjust the clutch. Also air entrainment might be the cause.

If plugging occurs, to clear an obstruction, disengage the slurry pump clutch, remove, and clean the discharge nozzle using the nozzle cleaning rod. Repeat until clean. A drop in pressure accompanied by a frothy discharge indicates a blockage in the suction line or sump area. To clear the pump, disengage the slurry pump clutch, stop the engine, and close the suction shutoff valve. For obstructions in the sump area, backflushing through the discharge plumbing with the water supply hose is the easiest method.

  If your Finn Farm Equipment pump is jammed, several issues could be the cause. If you are using fertilizer with highly abrasive fillers, consider changing the fertilizer to avoid abrasive fillers. If you are overloading the machine with dry material, load the machine to the recommended capacities. If the pump is jammed with fertilizer or lime, remove the cover and clean the interior. If the impeller is rusted to the suction cover plate, pull the cover and remove the rust. If the pump is frozen, warm the housing to melt the ice. After loading and mixing has been completed, set agitator at 1/4 discharging speed in reverse and disengage the slurry pump. Close recirculation valve when discharging through the boom.
