How to prevent injury when maintaining Fisher Control Unit?
- SSusan KingJul 26, 2025
To prevent injury or property damage from sudden pressure release or bursting parts when working on the Fisher Control Unit, always wear protective gear like clothing, gloves, and eyewear. Ensure that the actuator is disconnected from any power or control signals. Isolate the control valve using bypass valves or by completely shutting off the process, and relieve pressure from both sides. Use lockout procedures to maintain safety measures. Consult with process or safety engineers for additional protective steps. Vent the pneumatic actuator loading pressure and relieve any actuator spring precompression.
