will begin the self-cleaning process. Ensure
that the steam adjustment knob is in the
CLOSED ( ) posion. If it is not, the lighted
indicators will remain on and the coee
machine will not work.
Warning: if you want to perform a more
thorough cleaning of the interior of the
coee machine, use a soluon of 1/4
vinegar and water or use a descaling
product. Repeat the operaon with water
only to eliminate any possible descaling
product residue.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Fill the water tank with potable water
without exceeding the MAX line.
Plug in the coee machine and make sure
that the steam adjustment knob is in the
CLOSED ( ) posion.
Press the ON/OFF buon (16). The coee
buons will blink and the machine will
begin warming up. When the coee buons
stop blinking, the machine is warmed up.
Making coee
While the coee machine warms up, place
the lter you wish to use in the portalter.
Use the doser/tamper to measure and
tamp down the coee. Wipe the excess
coee from the edges of the lter
Fit the portalter into the machine by
aligning the arm of the portalter with the
UNLOCKED ( ) symbol and rotang it unl
the arm of the portalter is aligned with the
LOCKED ( ) symbol.
Make sure to place the required coee
cup(s) under the spout of the portalter.
Press the desired coee buon.
Programming the quanty of coee
It is possible to program the volume of
coee served by each coee buon.
Once the coee machine has warmed up
(the lighted coee indicators are steady),
press the buon you wish to program and
hold it down unl reaching the desired
volume.
If you wish to restore the factory volume
sengs, press and hold the single coee
and the steam buons for 3 seconds. The
machine will emit an alert sound to indicate
that the factory volume sengs have been
restored.
Steam/milk frothing funcon
Press the ON/OFF buon. The machine
will emit an alert sound. The lighted single
coee and double coee indicators will turn
on and the machine will begin warming up.
Press the steam buon. The steam buon
will blink and then stay steady once the
required steam temperature has been
reached.
Pour milk (preferably whole) into a
container (e.g., a mug). Fill the container to
1/3 full.
Insert the steam wand around 1 cm (.5
in) deep into the milk and slowly turn the
steam adjustment knob to the steam/hot
water ( ) posion to start producing
steam.
NOTE: the steam wand (6) may release a
few drops of water before beginning to
produce steam.
When the milk begins to heat up (up
to 75ºC/167ºF) and the volume of milk
increases, rotate the steam adjustment
knob to the CLOSED ( ) posion and press
the steam buon to turn o the funcon.
