Cooling the machine aer using the
steam/milk frothing funcon
Aer using the steam funcon, the
temperature of the machine increases
signicantly and all the components will
be very hot. The 2 lighted single coee and
double coee indicators will begin to blink
quickly, indicang that the temperature of
the water circuit is too high and must cool
down.
To normalize the temperature of the water
circuit, follow these steps:
Place a container under the steam wand.
Rotate the steam adjustment knob to the
steam/water ( ) posion so that the
machine dispenses water for a few seconds.
When the lighted indicators begin blinking
slowly, rotate the steam adjustment knob
to the CLOSED ( ) posion.
When the lighted indicators become
steady, the water circuit temperature has
normalized and coee may be dispensed.
Energy saving mode
The machine has an auto shut-o
funcon to automacally turn itself o
aer 25 minutes of inacvity and reduce
energy consumpon.
To reacvate the machine, press the ON/
OFF buon.
SECRETS FOR A GOOD COFFEE
Preheat the portalter, lter and mug.
Use high-quality water.
Use high-quality coee with the appropriate
grind – “espresso grind coee”.
Since coee is a natural product, its avor
varies according to its origin, blend and
roast. Try dierent types of espresso grind
coee unl you nd one that best suits your
personal taste.
Aer opening a package of coee, store it
in the refrigerator in an airght container.
Use the correct quanty of coee in the
lter and appropriate tamping.
Small variaons in the dose of coee and the
grind, as well as stronger or soer tamping,
can all cause variaons in the intensity and
aroma of your espresso coee.
The greater the quanty of coee, the
ner the grind and the more rmly tamped
it is, the slower the coee will pour out
from the machine. If the coee pours out
of the portalter very quickly, you should
substute the coee for one with a ner
grind.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Cleaning
Unplug the coee machine and allow it to
cool completely before cleaning.
Do not use abrasive cleaning products or
sponges, as these can damage the surface
of the appliance.
Do not immerse the body of the coee
machine in water or any other liquid.
Remove the portalter from the coee
machine and empty the coee residue from
the lters. Aerwards, clean the portalter
with water and a cloth. If you detect ground
coee or any other substance inside the
portalter, rinse the inside of the portalter
with abundant running water.
The portalter is not dishwasher safe.
Regularly wash the water tank, the drip
tray, the cup rack and the lters with warm
water and dish detergent. Rinse well to
