Cooling the machine aer using the
steam/milk frothing funcon
Aer using the steam funcon, the
temperature of the machine increases
signicantly and all the components will
be very hot. The 2 lighted single coee and
double coee indicators will begin to blink

the water circuit is too high and must cool

Place a container under the steam wand.
Rotate the steam adjustment knob to the
steam/water ( ) posion so that the
machine dispenses water for a few seconds.
When the lighted indicators begin blinking
slowly, rotate the steam adjustment knob
to the CLOSED ( ) posion.
When the lighted indicators become
steady, the water circuit temperature has
normalized and coee may be dispensed.

The machine has an “auto shut-o”
funcon to automacally turn itself o
aer 25 minutes of inacvity and reduce
energy consumpon.
To reacvate the machine, press the ON/

SECRETS FOR A GOOD COFFEE
Preheat the portalter, lter and mug.
Use high-quality water.
Use high-quality coee with the appropriate
grind – “espresso grind coee”.
Since coee is a natural product, its avor
varies according to its origin, blend and
roast. Try dierent types of espresso grind
coee unl you nd one that best suits your
personal taste.
Aer opening a package of coee, store it
in the refrigerator in an airght container.
Use the correct quanty of coee in the
lter and appropriate tamping.
Small variaons in the dose of coee and the
grind, as well as stronger or soer tamping,
can all cause variaons in the intensity and
aroma of your espresso coee.
The greater the quanty of coee, the
ner the grind and the more rmly tamped
it is, the slower the coee will pour out
from the machine. If the coee pours out
of the portalter very quickly, you should
substute the coee for one with a ner
grind.
