8.1.2 Introduction
The IRCamSafeEX-AXB/C

series is a range of protective enclosures for infrared cam-
eras. The enclosures are designed for use with infrared cameras from the FLIR A3XX/
SC3XX

and A615/SC6XX

series. There are two types of protective enclosure, distin-
guished by the letter code in the product name: AXB
5
and AXC. Both enclosure types
are designed to be used in explosive atmospheres resulting from flammable gases. The
AXC model can also be used in explosive atmospheres resulting from combustible dusts.
The protective enclosures comply with the applicable explosion protection guidelines
and are certified as a complete unit with all attachments, so the cameras do not need to
be recertified following installation.
