4.1.3 Water Accumulation
The R1, R2, R3, R3D, R5 and R5D Radar Assemblies are designed to prevent water ingress in the radar unit,
however it is preferable to use a mounting plate that will prevent water accumulation at the base. The
mounting plate should clear the aerating vents at the bottom of the radar. Figure 19 shows the preferred type
of mounting plate. If the mounting plate is larger in diameter than the base of the radar, it is recommended
that the spacer included with the radar be used, as shown in Figure 20. This spacer should be
inserted between
the radar and the mounting plate.
