How to troubleshoot a Flotec Water Pump that won't start?
    • D
      Darryl HarrisAug 12, 2025
If your Flotec Water Pump won't start or run, first ensure it's properly plugged into an outlet. If it still doesn't work, check the fuse and replace it with the correct size if it's blown. In case of low voltage, inspect the wiring. If issues persist, the motor or float switch might be defective and require replacement. A clogged impeller can also prevent the pump from starting; unplug the pump, remove the lower body, and clear any blockage. If the impeller is damaged, replace it. Finally, try wiping the switch with a clean cloth.

What to do if my Flotec Water Pump delivers little or no water?
    • N
      natalie25Aug 19, 2025
If your Flotec Water Pump operates but delivers little or no water, start by checking the line voltage; if it's below 110 volts, inspect the wiring. Should the wiring be adequate, contact your power company. Debris caught in the impeller or a restricted intake screen can also cause this issue; remove the pump and clean these components. Inspect the impeller for wear or damage; clean it if plugged, replace if necessary, or replace the pump. Ensure the check valve has a 1/8” (3mm) hole drilled between the pump discharge and the check valve, 1-2” above the pump discharge and below the waterline. Also, verify that the check valve is correctly installed with the flow arrow pointing away from the pump.

Why won't my Flotec Water Pump shut off?
    • J
      Jamie WrightAug 27, 2025
If your Flotec Water Pump won’t shut off, the switch may be defective. Try wiping the switch and checking its functionality before replacing it. A restricted discharge due to an obstacle or ice in the piping can also cause this; unplug the pump, remove it from the sump, and clean the pump and piping. Additionally, a restricted intake screen can be the culprit; unplug the pump, remove it from the sump, and clean the intake screen and impeller.

Why does my Flotec E100ELT start and stop frequently?
    • J
      Jeffrey SimmonsSep 4, 2025
If your Flotec Water Pump starts and stops too often, it might be due to backflow of water from the piping. Consider installing or replacing the check valve. Another possible cause is a faulty switch, which would require replacement.
