If the pump is plugged in, inspect the fuse and replace it with one of the correct size if it's blown. Also, low line voltage can be a factor; check the wiring size from the main switch if the voltage is below the recommended minimum. If the wiring is OK, contact your power company or hydro authority. If these steps don't resolve the issue, the motor or float switch might be defective, requiring you to replace the pump or the float switch, respectively. Lastly, if the impeller won’t turn, remove the lower pump body and locate and remove any obstructions.

Also, the float itself might be obstructed, so remove any obstructions that you find. Lastly, a restricted intake screen could be the culprit; remove the pump and clean both the intake screen and the impeller.
