Keep extension cords short. 2. **Obstruction in impeller:** Clean out the impeller. 3. **Hose issues:** Use a larger diameter garden hose or 1" flexible pipe, and minimize excess hose length. Short hoses work best. 4. **Check valve problem:** Drill a 1/16" - 1/8" (1.6 - 3.2 mm) diameter hole between the pump discharge and the check valve. 5. **Anti-airlock hole clogged:** Turn off the pump briefly, clean out the anti-airlock hole, and restart the pump. 6. **Bends in hose:** Straighten the hose.
