Handle hazardous fluid residues with care.
Temporarily place the Argus Ball Valve in the half-open position to let hazardous fluid
residues escape.
Use a vessel to collect any hazardous fluid residues and properly dispose of them.
Risk of injury due to improper maintenance/repair works!
Improper maintenance/repair works may cause severe injury or death.
Only deploy qualified personnel with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
and suitable work tools. See Section 2.2 to 2.4.
Ensure that unauthorized persons do not have any access to the Argus Ball Valve.
Ensure that the Argus Ball Valve is designed for the special operating conditions.
Ensure that the connections, in particular the welding parameters, comply with the
design specifications of the Argus Ball Valve.
Monitor the temperature of the valve body in the seat area by using the temperature-
sensing strips during welding.
Provide safety instructions relating the piping (including fittings).
When installing the Argus Ball Valve via flange connection determine the required
tightening torques of the bolts.
Make sure to flush the piping after the installation has been completed and before the
Argus Ball Valve is actuated.
If the Argus Ball Valve is used for permanent shut-off from the atmosphere, provide a
blind flange or equivalent end.
Only use original spare parts provided by Flowserve Flow Control GmbH.
