Intelligent Access with Push-button Start
Entering the vehicle
• Eliminatesfumblingwiththekey—allowing
customers to enter Taurus with one touch and then
start the vehicle without ever getting the key out of
their pocket
• SystemsenseswhentheIntelligentAccessKeyisin
range of the door and allows access to the vehicle with
a touch of the SecuriCode Keyless Entry Keypad
• TheIntelligentAccessKeyisprogrammedtoaspecific
vehicle and can be kept in a pocket, purse or briefcase
• Trunkcanbeopened–withoutusingthekey–by
depressing the switch located above the license plate
when the Intelligent Access Key is in range

allowing access to vehicle if the key fob battery is dead

Intelligent Access Key from being locked inside
the vehicle
– If the doors are locked and the Intelligent Access
Key is sensed inside the passenger compartment or
trunk, the doors will be immediately unlocked and
the horn will chirp to notify the driver
– The Intelligent Access Key can be intentionally
locked inside the vehicle via the SecuriCode Keyless
Entry Keypad or by using the second Intelligent
Access Key
NOTE: To access the MyKey setting in Taurus models
equipped with Intelligent Access, the key fob must be
placed in the backup key slot located in the center
floor console.
Starting the vehicle

can be started by depressing the brake pedal and
pressing the Engine START/STOP button on the
instrument panel

or a low battery condition,

Key into the molded pocket
