Towing
Do not exceed the maximum vehicle and trailer weight stated on the
vehicle identification plate. Refer to the Vehicle identification section in
the Ford Transit Owner’s Handbook
If a tow bar has been fitted ensure that the tailboard has been installed
with a protective guide to prevent it from jamming on the tow
bar/ball/clevis.
CAUTION
WARNING
A suitable Tailboard Protection Plate is available from VFS (Southampton) Ltd.
Refer to Parts Catalogue for details and assembly guide below for fitting to vehicle.
Identify centreline of tailboard and use protection plate as a template for drilling
fixing holes. Hold plate beneath top lip of board, ensure upper fold is facing
forward. Mark fixing holes and drill 4 off 6.5mm diameter holes through outer
face of tailboard. Assemble protection plate to tailboard using fixings as shown.
Note: Protection plate has a fold at the top; this must face forward when installed.
