PINPOINT TEST I: THE WIPERS DO NOT PARK AT THE CORRECT POSITION
Yes
REPAIR Circuit 58 (WH), or Circuit 56 (DB/OG), as necessary. REPEAT the FEM self-test, CLEAR the DTCs.
No
INSTALL a new windshield wiper motor. For additional information, REFER to Motor — Windshield Wiper.
REPEAT the FEM self-test, CLEAR the DTCs.
CONDITIONS DETAILS/RESULTS/ACTIONS
I1 CHECK THE WINDSHIELD WIPER ON/OFF RELAY
Remove the windshield wiper ON/OFF relay.
Component test the windshield wiper ON/OFF relay. Refer to Wiring Diagram Cell 149.
Does the windshield wiper relay ON/OFF test OK?
Yes
GO to I2.
No
INSTALL a new windshield wiper ON/OFF relay.
I2 CHECK FOR DTCS B1446 AND B1448
Install the windshield wiper ON/OFF relay.
Retrieve FEM continuous DTCs
Is DTC B1446 or B1448 present?
Yes
If DTC B1448 is present GO to I3 .
If DTC B1446 is present, GO to I4 .
No
The system is operating normally at this time.
I3 CHECK CIRCUIT 28 (BK/PK) FOR A SHORT TO BATTERY
Remove the windshield wiper ON/OFF relay.
FEM C191
Wiper Motor C113
Measure the voltage from windshield wiper motor C113 Pin 5, Circuit 28 (BK/PK) harness side and ground.
Is any voltage present?
Yes
REPAIR Circuit 28 (BK/PK). RESTORE the system. CARRY OUT the FEM self-test. CLEAR the continuous DTCs.
No
GO to I7.
