Where the propellor shaft passes throuh the hull from the engine
to the propellor, a syntron shaft seal is installed to prevent
the ingress of water. This shaft seal consists of a number of
O-rings. Owner’s maintenance is limited to inspecting the clamps
that hold the hose to the seal and to the fiberglass shaft log
and periodic application of grease to the syntron shaft seal.
