7.3. How to connect wiring to the terminals
Cautionwhenwiringcable
Tostripofftheinsulationofaleadwire,alwaysuseaspecialtoolsuchasawirestripper.
Ifthereisnospecialtool,carefullystripofftheinsulationbyusingaknifeorotherutensil.
(1) Usering terminalswith insulating sleevesas shown inthe gure toconnect to the
terminalblock.
(2) Securelyclamptheringterminalstothewiresbyusinganappropriatetoolsothatthe
wiresdonotcomeloose.

(3) Connectspeciedwiressecurely,andfastenthemsothatthereisnostressappliedon
theterminals.
(4) Useascrewdriverwithanappropriatebitsizetotightentheterminalscrews.Usingof
screwdriverwithinappropriatebitsizewilldamagethescrewheads,andthescrews
willnotbetightenedproperly.
(5) Donotovertightentheterminalscrews.Otherwise,thescrewsmaybreak.

•Whenxingtheconnectioncablewiththecableclamp,alwaysfastenthecableatthe
plasticjacketportion,butnotattheinsulatorportion.Iftheinsulatorischafed,electric
leakagemayoccur.
•Alwaysconnecttheearth(ground)wire.Improperearthing(grounding)workcan
causeelectricshocks.
•Donotusetheearth(ground)screwfortheindoorunittotheoutdoorunitunlessitis
specied.
8. FINISHING
(1) Insulatebetweenpipes.
• Insulatesuctionanddischargepipesseparately.
• Forrear,right,andbottompiping,overlaptheconnectionpipeheatinsulationand
indoorunitpipeheatinsulationandbindthemwithvinyltapesothatthereisnogap.
(2) Temporarilyfastentheconnectioncablealongtheconnectionpipewithvinyltape.
(Wraptoabout1/3thewidthofthetapefromthebottomofthepipesothatwater
doesnotenter.)
(3) Fastentheconnectionpipetotheoutsidewallwithasaddle,etc.
(4) Fillthegapbetweentheoutsidewallpipeholeandthepipewithsealersothatrain
waterandwindcannotblowin.
(5) Fastenthedrainhosetotheoutsidewall,etc.
