      If the error message 'System CMOS checksum bad - default configuration used' appears, switch the notebook off, then switch it on again. Press the function key F2 to access the BIOS Setup.       If the external monitor remains blank, first, switch the external monitor on. If power saving is activated, press any key to continue. Adjust the brightness of the monitor if it is set too low. If the screen output is set to the notebook’s LCD screen, press the key combination to switch the screen output. Finally, switch off the external monitor and the notebook and check whether the power cable is plugged properly into the external monitor and into the power socket, and whether the data cable is properly connected to the notebook and the external monitor. Then, switch on the external monitor and the notebook.
