– Modular RAID 0/1 controller with "MegaRAID functionality"
(SAS MegaRAID) for SAS1.0 and SAS2.0
RAID levels 0, 1,10 and 1E are supported for internal hard disk drive
configurations.
– Modular RAID 5/6 controller with "MegaRAID functionality"
(SAS MegaRAID) for SAS1.0 and SAS2.0
RAID levels 0, 1, 10, 1E, 5, 50, 6 and 60 are supported for internal hard disk
drive configurations. As an option, a flash backup unit (FBU) can save the
memory content even if the power fails. Cache memory size of 512 Mbyte or
1 Gbyte is available.

Accessible drives / components
For all configurations, except those with 12 *3.5-inch and 16*2.5-inch HDD
modules or 8*2.5-inch HDD modules + LTO drive, a number of mounting
locations is available:
– One 3.5-inch slimline bay for an optional Local Service Module: ServerView
Local Service Display (LSD)
– One 3.5-inch slimline bay for an optional optical drive
I The accessible drives/components described in this section cannot be
replaced during operation.
USB connectors
Two USB 2.0 connectors (2.5-inch system variant) or one USB 2.0 connector
(3.5-inch system variant) on the front of the device support activities carried out
by the service technician. The maximum length of the external cable is two
meters for the USB connectors on the front.
