Why does my Garrett ACE 400i make erratic sounds?
    • J
      Joe WilliamsJul 27, 2025
Erratic sounds or Target ID cursor movement can occur for several reasons. First, make sure your searchcoil is securely connected and the coil cable is snugly wound around the stem. If you're using the detector indoors, electrical interference and metal in floors and walls can cause issues. Also, check if you are near power lines, wire fences or other metal structures. Try adjusting the frequency or reducing the sensitivity setting to resolve this.

What to do if my Garrett ACE 400i Metal Detector is not finding specific targets?
    • S
      Sean ParkAug 2, 2025
If you're not finding specific targets, make sure you're using the correct mode for the type of hunting you're doing. For example, if you're hunting for coins, use COINS mode to eliminate undesirable targets. Alternatively, use the ZERO-DISC mode to detect all metal targets and ensure your desired targets are present.

What to do if Garrett ACE 400i has intermittent signals?
    • D
      Danny DavisAug 14, 2025
To handle intermittent signals, scan from different directions to help define the signal. If you're dealing with multiple targets, switch to the ZERO-DISC Mode or press the pinpoint button to precisely locate all targets. In trashy areas, consider using the Super Sniper™ or a 5" x 8" DD searchcoil.
