DNP 3
DNP communication
The 869 supports Distributed Network Protocol (DNP) version 3.0. and the 869 operates as
a DNP slave device. Two DNP masters can actively communicate with the 869
at one time
as the 869
maintains two sets of DNP data change buffers and connection information.
The following is a detailed explanation of the 869
’s DNP 3 implementation.
FAST PATH:
Both DNP and IEC104 protocol can work at the same time, but the user has to consider
that there is only one point map. So, the two protocols will use the same data mapping, i.e.
the same point index and same point source.
FAST PATH:
The 869 supports two DNP3.0 client connections simultaneously.
FAST PATH:
When configuring DNP do not use port 20057 since it is reserved for internal purposes by
the unit itself.
