retentionrequirementsexceedveyears,considerusingGEHealthcareArchivist

Toensurethetracingisimagedproperly,thedevicemustbemaintainedin
accordancewithitsservicemanualsandtechnicalmemoranda.
Toensurethetracinglastsforthepaper'sexpectedlifespan,observethefollowing
guidelineswhenstoringyourprintouts:
•Storeinacool,dark,anddrylocation.
•Standardpaper
Temperaturemustbelessthan27°C(80°F).
Relativehumiditymustbelessthan65%.
•Archivistpaper
Temperaturemustbelessthan40°C(104°F).
Relativehumiditymustbebetween40%and60%.
•AvoidexposuretobrightlightorUVsources.
Sourcesofultravioletlightincludesunlight,uorescentlights,halogenlights,
mercuryvaporlamps,andgermicidallamps.
•Avoidcontactwithcleaningliquidsandsolvents.
Solventstoavoidincludealcohols,ketones,esters,ether,andsoforth.
•Storethermalpaperseparatelyinmanilafoldersorpolyesterorpolyimide
protectors.
Plasticdocumentprotectors,envelopes,orsheetseparatorsmadeofpolystyrene,
polypropylene,orpolyethylenedonotdegradethermaltraces.However,these
materialsaffordnoprotectionagainstfadingfromexternalcauses.
•DoNOTstorethermalpaperswithanyofthefollowing:
•carbonorcarbonlessforms
•documentprotectors,envelopes,andsheetseparatorscontainingpolyvinyl
chlorideorothervinylchlorides.
•non-thermalchartpapersoranyotherproductscontainingtributylphosphate,
dibutylphthalate,oranyotherorganicsolvents
NOTE:
Manymedicalandindustrialchartscontainthesechemicals.
•DoNOTusemountingforms,pressure-sensitivetapes,andlabelsthatuse
solvent-basedadhesives.
Useonlymountingformsandpressure-sensitivetapesmadewithstarchor
water-basedadhesives.
