Why won't the burners light on my GE Range?
    • S
      Samuel CruzSep 1, 2025
If the burners on your GE Range aren't lighting, first ensure the range is fully plugged into a properly grounded electrical outlet. Check that the gas supply is connected and turned on. Also, check your home's fuse box or circuit breaker and replace the fuse or reset the breaker if needed. Make sure the burner parts are correctly replaced. Clean any clogged burner slots near the electrode, or the round lighter port on the oval burner, after removing the burners. Lightly polish any food residue on the electrode with a nail file or sandpaper until shiny.

How to fix food not broiling properly in my GE Ranges oven?
    • S
      Sonya MillerSep 4, 2025
If food isn't broiling properly in your GE Range, first ensure you've selected the appropriate broil mode. Check the Cooking Guide for rack location suggestions, as using an improper rack position can cause issues. If using aluminum foil on the broil pan, make sure it's wrapped tightly and has slits to allow grease to drain.

Why doesn't my new GE PCGS960 oven cook like my old one?
    • J
      joseph15Sep 5, 2025
Your new GE Range oven may cook differently due to a different cooking system. For the first few uses, carefully follow recipe times and temperatures and use recommended rack positions from the Cooking Guide. If you still think the oven is too hot or cold, you can adjust the temperature yourself to meet your specific cooking preference. See the Settings section.

If your GE Range oven isn't clean after a clean cycle, make sure the oven controls are properly set. See the Cleaning the Oven section. Also, if the oven was heavily soiled, clean up heavy spillovers before starting the clean cycle. Heavily soiled ovens may need to self-clean again or for a longer period of time.
