Electromagnetic Interference (EMI Filter)
• The filter is designed to prevent the power cord from acting like an antenna to
prevent interference from a radio or a television or other electronic appliances.
• The EMI filter is installed between the power cord and the main control board.
• The EMI filter is accessed from the back of the refrigerator and it is located on the left
side of the compressor.
• The EMI filter is on all 21 cu. ft. and 25 cu. ft. single and French door models.
• The 20 cu. ft. and 22 cu. ft. single and French door models do not have this filter.
To remove the EMI filter:
1. Remove the 5/16 -in. hex-head screw that attaches the bracket to the cabinet.
2. Pull the bracket out and remove the 1/2-in. nut.
