• Set Password: Sets user and supervisor passwords.
• Save & Exit Setup: Saves BIOS settings and exits Setup.
• Exit Without Save: Exits Setup without saving BIOS settings.
Standard CMOS Setup
• Date: system date setting (the field for the day of the week cannot be changed by the user: it is defined by the
BIOS based on the other date information).
• Time: system clock setting.
• IDE Primary Master/Slave, IDE Secondary Master/Slave: hard disk parameter settings
A sub-menu is displayed.
- Hard Disk sub-menu
The AUTO setting seeks and automatically sets the HD parameters installed during the boot phase.
You can set the HD parameters manually by activating the USER setting. Parameters are normally available
on the product label.
After the hard disk is installed, you have to run the partitioning procedures and install the selected operating
system.
• Drive A, B: selection of drivers of disks installed in system.
• Video: selection of type of video system in system
• Halt On: setting of hardware error conditions (detected during self-test at system start-up) that cause the system
to stop.
BIOS Features Setup
• Virus Warning: VIRUS Warning settings to protect sections of IDE hard disk.
• CPU L1 & L2 Cache: enables level 1 and 2 cache.
• CPU L3 Cache: enables level 3 cache.
• Quick Power On Self Test: quickens self-test procedure at power-on.
• First/Second/Third Boot Device: sequence of devices from which BIOS tries to load the operating system
(Floppy, LS/ZIP, HDD, SCSI, CDROM, Disabled).
• Swap Floppy Drive: swaps the association between driver and logic name (if the system has two floppy drives)
• Boot Up Floppy Seek: seeks disks during system boot
• Boot Up NumLock Status: NumLock status at system boot.
