ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE (EPB)
Applying
Manual Release
Automatic Release
NOTE: If necessary, emergency braking is possible by pulling and
holding the EPB switch. NOTE: Please see the owner’s manual for
additional details.
The EPB will automatically be
applied when: the engine is
off, vehicle is in Park AND
Auto Hold is enabled OR
parked on a slope OR vehicle
moves a small bit.

Depress and hold the brake pedal .
Pull up the EPB switch .
Make sure the Parking Brake warning
light comes ON in cluster.
Depress and hold the brake pedal .
Press the EPB switch .
Make sure the Parking Brake warning
light goes OFF in cluster.
With the engine running, depress
the brake pedal and shift out of P
(Park) or N (Neutral) to R (Reverse)
or D (Drive). Make sure the doors,
hood, and trunk are closed and the
seat belt is fastened.

AUTO HOLD
To cancel: press the AUTO HOLD switch
again.
1. Press the AUTO HOLD switch.
2. Stop the vehicle by pressing
the brake pedal. The brakes
will remain engaged even if
the brake pedal is released.
3. The brakes will release when
the accelerator pedal is
pressed with transmission in
D, R or manual mode.
The Auto Hold feature assists in steep hill
areas. It holds the brake until the
accelerator pedal is pressed.
