Description
The main machine components of the AMBRA series machines are the following:
Boiler: Contains hot water (not for coffee brewing; please see “heat exchangers” here below) and steam.
Group (“coffee brewing heads”): This is the component where the filter holder is inserted. The pressurized hot
water enters in the group, where the processes of the coffee take place.
Heat exchangers: The machine comes with one heat exchanger for each coffee brewing group. The heat exchanger is
fitted into boiler and its purpose is to heat up the fresh water coming from the mains to the correct temperature. This
fresh water is used to brew the coffee.
Heating source: An electric heater warms the water in the boiler.
Vibration pump (built into the machine): This component is to increase the water pressure of the mains to the
correct water pressure for espresso coffee preparation.
Steam valves and wands: These components deliver hot steam for milk frothing and water heating.
Hot water valve and wand: This delivers hot water.
Control devices:
Pressure gauge: Indicates the boiler pressure. The correct boiler pressure is around 0,9 – 1,1 bar.
Pressure switch: This is used for pressure control and controls the heat sources.
Automatic Boiler Water Level control:
This is used for the electronic level control of the water inside the boiler.
Safety devices:
Security valve, pressure boiler maximal 1,4 bar.
The heating element is protected by a thermo switch, which cuts off the electrical feeding of the heating element when
the boiler temperature has reached 130 °C.
Tank level control. When the water level in the tank is not enough to make espresso coffe, or to maintain the water
level in the boiler, the machine cuts off the electrical feeding of the heating element and you can not make a coffee.
The red lamp swicht off and an acustic alarm begins. Refill the water level in the tank and the machine will set up
the normal function.
