2. Important safety-related information
The machine must be used exclusively to prepare coffee; dispensing hot water to prepare Tea or Herbal
Teas and steam to prepare milk for the cappuccino.
The machine must be installed, serviced, uninstalled and disposed of by specialised and authorised
technical staff.
The appliance is not to be used by children under the age of 8 and persons with reduced physical, mental or
sensory abilities or with insufficient experience and knowledge, unless they are supervised by a person
responsible for their safety
Therefore, the product is intended exclusively for adult, responsible staff, qualified to use the product.
The hot parts of the machine can cause serious injury such as burns. Therefore do not touch the steam
wands, the hot water wand, the coffee dispensing unit and the metal parts of the filter-holders. Maximum
attention must be given when preparing the drinks. Also pay attention to the cup warming shelf; it can reach
high temperatures during use.
The machine must never be placed in water or other liquids. For no reason whatsoever must liquids be
poured over the outer parts, over or inside the machine. Also, do not subject the appliance to direct or
indirect jets of water. Failure to comply with that described above constitutes a source of dangerous electric
shocks or short circuits, therefore making the appliance hazardous for the safety of persons as well as
causing damage to any objects in the vicinity.
The electric connection plant must be realised according to the current legal regulations with an efficient
earth. The installation of a suitable "life-saver" residual current device with intervention threshold of 30mA is
strongly advised.
The machine must be disconnected from the electric power supply and the water network before any
maintenance operation is performed. Before any repair operation or maintenance, the machine must be
allowed to cool for at least 20 minutes.
In no way must damaged electric connection cables be used. The electric cable must not pass in the vicinity
of sharp parts, which could deteriorate them.
The machine must not be used outdoors and/or exposed to the risk of weather conditions.
There must be no heat sources around the machine (gas burners, etc.).
To disconnect the machine from the mains, turn the master switch off and then the switch from the mains to
the machine. Remove the plug only after these operations; do not pull the cable.
The machine must not operate with temperatures below 8°C or over 44°C.
The support surface of the machine must be stable and level.
The machine must be fed exclusively with cool and clean drinking water, with hardness possibly between 4
and 7°F.
If necessary, use suitably softened water or bottled water with low calcium content. The presence of a high
calcareous value can be a source of damage to the machine and potential cause of injury for persons or
objects (malfunctioning, uncontrolled spray of boiling water, etc.).
The manufacturer declines all liability for damage to the machine, as well as to persons or objects due to the
failure to comply with the indications given above.
