Overview

The GoFit Polar Foot Roller is a targeted cold rolling massage device designed to alleviate soreness in the feet. It functions similarly to an ice pack but incorporates a rolling action, providing both cold therapy and massage without melting ice.

Function Description:

The primary function of the Polar Foot Roller is to provide cold therapy and massage to reduce inflammation and pain in the feet. It is particularly effective for conditions like plantar fasciitis and metatarsalgia, which cause pain in the ball of the foot. The device utilizes a special inner liquid that stays ice-cold for an extended period, ensuring continuous cold relief during use. The ergonomically-shaped stainless steel roller glides along the bottom of the feet, allowing users to apply pressure as needed to target sore areas and massage away soreness.

Important Technical Specifications:

The device features an ergonomically-shaped stainless steel roller. The internal mechanism contains a special liquid designed to maintain an ice-cold temperature for an extended duration, distinguishing it from traditional ice packs that melt. The overall construction includes components made of rubber or plastic, which contribute to its durability and functionality.

Usage Features:

  • Initial Preparation: Before first use, the Polar Foot Roller must be placed in a freezer for at least two hours. For optimal results and to keep it clean and dry, it is recommended to insert the roller into a plastic bag before freezing.
  • Application: Users should be seated in a chair or on the floor to regulate the pressure applied to the foot and maintain balance. The roller is placed between the bottom of the foot and the floor.
  • Rolling Technique: The foot is rolled back-and-forth on the Polar Foot Roller with light pressure, adjusting as needed for comfort and to target pain areas.
  • Duration: Each session should involve rolling back-and-forth for 15 to 20 seconds, repeated 1 to 2 times per session. The duration, repetitions, and pressure can be increased as needed, but it is crucial not to exceed 10 minutes of ice-cold therapy per session.
  • Comfort Adjustment: If the cold therapy feels too intense, wearing a thin sock or other material is recommended to mitigate the cold sensation.
  • Safety Warnings:
    • Never ingest any liquid leaking from the roller. If liquid leaks, discontinue use and contact GoFit.
    • Use the device ONLY as shown/illustrated/intended.
    • Ensure the roller is completely dry before placing it in the freezer or rolling it onto any body parts.
    • Never place the freezing cold roller onto the tongue or any wet body part.
    • Avoid holding the ice-cold roller on any single area of the body for more than 30 seconds at a time without rolling it.
    • Do not remove the wheels or disassemble the Polar Foot Roller.
    • This product is not a toy and is not intended for use by children. If allowing anyone under 18 to use it, constant adult supervision is required.
    • Always store the device out of reach of children and pets.
    • Always consult a physician before starting this or any type of therapy, especially if pregnant.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning: After each use, the roller should be cleaned with mild soap and rinsed thoroughly with water. Abrasive or chemical cleaners should NOT be used. Rubbing alcohol can be used to disinfect the surface.
  • Drying: After cleaning, allow the roller to dry completely before placing it back into a plastic bag and then into the freezer.
  • Storage: Keep the Polar Foot Roller out of direct sunlight. Do NOT place or store it where it may be exposed to extremely high temperatures or heat sources. For extended periods of non-use, store it in a cool, dry place, out of the reach of children or pets.
  • Component Lifespan: Some components, being made of rubber or plastic, have a lifespan that depends on the amount of usage and proper care.
