What to do if my Gordon 58892 Metal Detector is not detecting anything?
    • E
      Ellen EspinozaAug 7, 2025
If your Gordon Metal Detector isn't detecting anything, it could be due to several factors. First, check the Sensitivity Level and ensure it isn't set too low; adjust it higher. Also, verify that the correct Target ID range is selected. Finally, make sure the Search Coil is parallel with the ground when sweeping.

How to fix a Gordon 58892 that won't turn on?
    • K
      Kimberly CarterAug 15, 2025
If your Gordon Metal Detector isn't functioning at all, the first thing to check is the battery. A dead battery will prevent the unit from working, so replace the batteries. Also, ensure the cable connection is secure. Reconnect the cable.

Why does my Gordon 58892 beep without finding anything?
    • C
      Christopher DeanAug 22, 2025
The Gordon Metal Detector might be displaying signals even without a target due to several reasons. It could be interference from power lines or other electromagnetic sources; try changing your search location or removing the source of interference. High environmental humidity can also cause this; wait for the humidity level to decrease. If the Sensitivity Level is too high, adjust it lower. Ensure you're using the correct sweeping technique. Another potential cause is the presence of other metal detectors nearby; in that case, change your search location or remove the source of interference.

Why does my Gordon 58892 Metal Detector show multiple readings at once?
    • K
      Kirk LawrenceAug 30, 2025
If your Gordon Metal Detector is displaying multiple Target ID ranges or emitting multiple tones, it's likely due to multiple metal types being present in the search area. Try adjusting the Sensitivity Level lower to improve discrimination between target objects. It could also be that the Target ID range cannot be determined, perhaps due to heavily oxidized metal. In this case, sweep the Search Coil at different angles.
