What to do if my Graco 17M359 Paint Sprayer makes noise but won't spray?
    • G
      garciajamesAug 16, 2025
If your Graco Paint Sprayer makes a sound but doesn't spray material, several issues could be the cause. First, ensure the Prime Pump/Spray knob is in the SPRAY position and the spray tip is also in the SPRAY position. Check if the speed control is set too low and increase it until the unit sprays. Refill the FlexLiner if the material level is low, and prime the pump. Other potential causes include a FlexLiner in the cup support, issues with the cup cover, the cup assembly not being properly locked, air in the FlexLiner, a clogged VacuValve, a dirty sprayer, improperly installed outlet valves, a clogged spray tip, debris in the paint, or a plugged pump filter. In some cases, it might indicate that the pump has reached the end of its life, or there is a locked rotor condition.

Why is my Graco 17M359 Paint Sprayer spraying poorly?
    • M
      Mark BarnesAug 19, 2025
If your Graco Paint Sprayer is producing poor results, consider these possible causes and solutions: * A partially clogged spray tip: clear the clog. * Incorrect spray tip position: rotate the spray tip to the SPRAY position. * Using the wrong spray tip: install a different size spray tip. * A worn or damaged spray tip: replace the spray tip. * Aerated material: do NOT shake the material; stir it instead. * Material is too cold: warm the material. * Dirty or worn outlet valves: clean the outlet valves. * Pump at the end of its life: replace the pump assembly.

What to do if my Graco 17M359 Paint Sprayer spray pattern spits?
    • J
      Jason WaltersAug 22, 2025
If your Graco Paint Sprayer's spray pattern "spits" at the beginning or end, the issue might be due to excess material on the spray tip guard assembly or a partially clogged spray tip; clean the spray tip guard. Ensure the spray tip is fully inserted into the spray tip guard. A worn spray tip could also be the cause, so consider replacing it. Also, the sprayer may be dirty, so flush it. In some cases, the front valve may have reached the end of its life and needs replacement.

Why does my Graco 17M359 Paint Sprayer spray tip drip after releasing the trigger?
    • D
      Deanna LopezAug 27, 2025
If the spray tip of your Graco Paint Sprayer continues to drip or ooze material after the trigger is released, it could be due to a worn spray tip, so replace it. Also, ensure the spray tip is fully inserted into the spray tip guard.

Why does my Graco 17M359 make no sound when I pull the trigger?
    • D
      debbie95Sep 3, 2025
If your Graco Paint Sprayer makes no sound when the trigger is pulled, here are a few things to check. First, verify that the sprayer is receiving power. If the diagnostic light blinks once, the motor may have overheated; wait 20–30 minutes for it to cool down. Alternatively, the motor brushes could be worn, requiring motor replacement. If the diagnostic light blinks four times when the trigger is pulled, this indicates a locked rotor condition, and the pump and/or motor assembly should be replaced.

Why won't my Graco 17M359 spray water but sprays paint?
    • C
      Caitlin WilsonSep 6, 2025
If your Graco Paint Sprayer sprays paint but not water, ensure there is only one FlexLiner in the cup support. Verify the cup cover is correctly threaded and tightened to the cup support. Avoid flexing or pulling down on the cup support when evacuating air from the FlexLiner. Check for damage to the FlexLiner lip or cup cover gasket, and ensure they are free of debris and dried paint. In some cases, the pump may have reached the end of its life.

Why does my Graco 17M359 Paint Sprayer run intermittently or very slow?
    • G
      glenntoddSep 9, 2025
If your Graco Paint Sprayer runs intermittently or very slowly, the issue might be due to fluid inside the sprayer; allow the sprayer to dry out completely.

Why is the spray pattern too wide on my Graco 17M359 Paint Sprayer?
    • D
      Danielle MichaelSep 12, 2025
If the spray pattern from your Graco Paint Sprayer is too wide, try moving the sprayer closer to the surface. It could also be that you are using the incorrect spray tip for the material you're applying; in this case, install a different size spray tip.

How to fix uneven spray pattern with Graco 17M359?
    • H
      hdaughertyNov 24, 2025
If you're experiencing an uneven spray pattern, tails, dripping/sagging, or a spray pattern that's too narrow with your Graco Paint Sprayer, several factors could be at play. You might be moving too fast or too slow while spraying; adjust your speed accordingly. A clogged spray tip can also cause these issues, so try unclogging or cleaning it. Ensure your speed control is properly adjusted. The material itself might be difficult to atomize, or it may need to be thinned. Also, consider the distance to the surface and switch to a different spray tip if needed. Dirty or worn outlet valves or a pump nearing the end of its life could also be the cause. Other factors include holding the trigger while changing direction, and worn or damaged spray tip. Adjust the speed control until the desired pa...
