  To prime your Graco Paint Sprayer, ensure the Prime/Spray Valve is in the PRIME position (pointing down). Check the inlet screen for clogs and make sure the suction tube is fully immersed in the fluid. If you haven't already, prime the pump with water or a solvent-based flushing fluid. If the inlet valve check ball is stuck, try dislodging it by inserting a pencil into the inlet section or by power flushing the sprayer. Also, inspect the suction tube for leaks and tighten the connection if necessary. For viscous fluids, momentarily turn off the power switch so the pump can slow and stop; repeat if needed.

  If your Graco Paint Sprayer can't achieve a good spray pattern even at maximum pressure, first check that the reversible spray tip is in the SPRAY position. If it's in the UNCLOG position, rotate the arrow-shaped handle to point forward. The spray tip might be too large for the sprayer or worn out, so try selecting a smaller or new spray tip. Also, ensure the inlet screen, InstaClean fluid filter and spray gun fluid filter are clean. Thin the material if it is too thick, and remove any extra sections of hose if added. Check the pump valves for wear or debris: prime the sprayer with paint, trigger the gun momentarily, and when released, the pump should cycle and stop; continuous cycling indicates worn valves.
