What to do if Graco Magnum True Airless X5 runs, but doesn't prime?
    • D
      David HansonAug 12, 2025
If your Graco Paint Sprayer pump is running but not priming, make sure the Prime/Spray valve is in the PRIME position until paint comes out of the drain tube. Also, check that the inlet strainer isn't clogged and the suction tube is fully immersed in the paint. If the paint is thick, try momentarily turning the ON/OFF switch off and on.

      alvaradofernandoAug 16, 2025
If paint leaks down the outside of the pump of your Graco Paint Sprayer, the pump packings are likely worn. Replace them. For ProX models, replace the pump packings with a new ProXChange module.

How to fix Graco Magnum True Airless X5 Paint Sprayer with good prime but poor spray?
    • N
      njacksonAug 20, 2025
If your Graco Paint Sprayer is primed but not spraying well, the spray tip may be partially clogged. Clear the clog. Ensure the reversible spray tip is in the SPRAY position. Also, the paint may have debris; strain it. Check if the pressure is set too low and adjust the pressure control knob. Clean or replace the InstaClean fluid filter (ProX only) or the spray gun filter if clogged. The spray tip may be too large or worn, so replace it. Also, the inlet strainer could be clogged or the suction tube may not be immersed in paint; clean the strainer and immerse the tube.

Why Graco Paint Sprayer motor does not run?
    • R
      Robert HatfieldAug 31, 2025
If the motor of your Graco Paint Sprayer isn't running, first ensure the sprayer is plugged in and the ON/OFF switch is on. For ProX models, verify that the easy access door is fully closed and latched. Increase the pressure setting by turning the pressure control knob clockwise. Test the outlet with a working device and reset the circuit breaker or replace the fuse if needed. If using an extension cord, replace it if damaged. Check the sprayer's electric cord for damage and replace if necessary. If the pump is seized due to hardened paint or frozen water, thaw or address the hardened paint. If the motor still doesn't turn, consult an authorized retailer.
