What to do if my Graco Tradeworks 170 Paint Sprayer is plugged in but the motor won't run?

  If your Graco Paint Sprayer's power switch is on, and it's plugged in, but the motor doesn't run, and the pump doesn't cycle, here are a few things to check: * Ensure the pressure isn't set to zero; turn the pressure control knob clockwise to increase the pressure setting. * Try a different electrical outlet, or test the outlet with a known working device. Also, reset the building circuit breaker or replace the fuse. * Inspect the extension cord and sprayer electric cord for damage, replacing them if necessary. * If paint or water is frozen or hardened in the pump, unplug the sprayer and allow it to thaw completely in a warm area before attempting to restart it. If the paint is hardened, the pump packings, valves, drivetrain, or pressure switch may need replacement.

  If your Graco Paint Sprayer pump isn't priming, consider these possible causes and solutions: * Check if the inlet screen is clogged or the suction tube isn't immersed in fluid. Clean any debris from the inlet screen and ensure the suction tube is fully immersed. * The pump may need to be primed with flushing fluid. Remove the suction tube from the paint and prime the pump with water or a solvent-based flushing fluid. * If the inlet valve check ball is stuck, remove the suction tube and use a pencil to dislodge the ball. Alternatively, you can power flush the sprayer. * Inspect the inlet valve check ball and seat for dirt; clean or replace them as necessary. Also, check the outlet valve check ball and clean it if it's stuck. * Make sure the suction tube connection is tight and i...
