If either end of the spring

is worn or damaged and
does not hook properly on the reel hub (15) or the pin
(H)
which is welded to the inside of the lower reel flange (13),
replace the spring. See Fig 9. If the pin is broken, the lower
reel flange must be replaced.
To
remove the spring,
use
a locking pliers
(J)
to compress
several rows ofthe spring together. Then lift
out
the spring.

disposingofthespring, carefullyattach aminimum
of two hose
clamps around the keeper and spring bands
as shown
in
Fig 10.

spring together when greasing and installing the new
