Why is my Graco Water Pump failing to operate?
    • B
      Benjamin GonzalezAug 11, 2025
Your Graco Water Pump may fail to operate due to several reasons. It could be a restricted line or inadequate air supply, which requires clearing the line and increasing the air supply. Another cause might be an obstructed fluid hose, gun, or dispensing valve; in this case, open and clear the obstruction. If the fluid supply is exhausted, refill it and purge all air from the pump and fluid lines. Also, dried fluid on the displacement rod can cause this issue; clean the rod and ensure you always stop the pump at the bottom of the stroke, keeping the wet-cup half-filled with a compatible solvent. If the air motor is damaged, it should be serviced.

      Marie WagnerAug 21, 2025
If your Graco Water Pump operates, but the output is low on both strokes, check for a restricted line or inadequate air supply; clear any restrictions and increase the air supply. Also, inspect for an obstructed fluid hose, gun, or dispensing valve, and clear any obstructions. Ensure the fluid supply isn't exhausted by refilling it and purging air from the pump and fluid lines. Reprime the pump and hose if there's air in the displacement pump and hose. The packing nut might be too tight or too loose, requiring adjustment.
