If you do not have the Graupner HoTT 2.4 radio system this product will not work. This product is not com-
patible with any other 2.4GHz radio system.
Please read through this entire manual before you attempt the installation and usage of your Graupner
HoTT SMART-BOX!
These operating instructions are part of this product. They contains important notes to the operation and
handling. Please take this into consideration when you pass on the product to third parties. Neglect of the
operating instructions and the safety instructions lead to expiring the warranty.

DESCRIPTION1.
For the Graupner HoTT 2.4-GHz transmission system, the SMART-BOX is display and programming device
in one. Whether telemetry data are displayed in real time or settings have to be made in your HoTT sys-
tem, the generous display with 8 x 20 characters facilitates easy handling. Four switches are available for
operation. An integrated buzzer to sound acoustic signals and warning tones makes the BOX even more
convenient to use.

Transmitter: Operating voltage, Minimum Voltage Warning, Country setting and Range test
Receiver: RX Operating voltage, signal strenght, receiver temperature, servo reverse, Trim position, ser-
vo travel, failsafe, Channel Mapping, free mixer, model mix, servo test and sum signal
Telemetry: depending on connected sensor
Altitude, min. Altitude, max.Altitude, negative/positive difference/s, negative/positive
difference/3s, battery voltage (total - single cell), Min./Max. voltage, Min./Max. cell voltage,
Temperature (optional Sensor 1/Sensor 2), Min./Max. Temperature, fuel level, Min. fuel level,
RPM, Min./ Max. RPM
Since the SMART-BOX can be updated via the USB connection, you always have the latest software and
can utilize future functions or languages. Firmware updates for the SMART-BOX can be transferred via
the DATA or telemetry interface in conjunction with a PC running Windows XP, Vista or 7. For this you also
require the USB interface, Order No. 7168.6, and the adapter lead, Order No. 7168.6A, which are available
separately.
The programs and fi les required for this are available from www.graupner.de in the Download area for the
corresponding products.
Please note:
All settings (e.g. fail-safe, servo reverse, servo travel etc.) which you carry out using the SMART-BOX are
stored exclusively in the receiver, i.e. the altered settings are not displayed in the transmitter menu. This me-
ans that you should either carry out the programming using the transmitter only, or using the SMART-BOX
only, otherwise confl icts may occur. If you have entered all the previously implemented parameter settings
using the SMART-BOX, and then makes changes to some aspects using the transmitter, the SMART-BOX
settings will be overwritten (fail-safe settings) or modifi ed, and this can lead to problems in use.
Example: you use the SMART-BOX to program elevator servo travel to 80%, and this will be displayed
correctly on the SMART-BOX screen in the RX SERVO menu; however, it will not be displayed in the trans-
mitter menu. During the next fl ying session you may wish to reduce the same setting in the transmitter menu
itself, perhaps because you have left the Smartbox at home. You will fi nd that the value for this servo in the
