7. Install a new lower bearing (H) and
spacer (F) on spindle shaft.
IMPORTANT: Avoid damage! The clearance
between the lower bearing and the housing is
only 0.002 in. (0.05 mm). Do not force
bearing into housing.
8. Install the spindle shaft/blade assembly
(J), lower bearing (H) and spacer (F) into
the spindle housing (G).
9. Install the upper bearing (E).
10. Install pulley (D), spacer (C) and washer
(B).
11. Install and tighten nut (A). Torque to 85
lbf-ft (115 N•m).
12. If removed, install mower blade, blade
spacers and blade bolt. See Replacing
Mower Blades on page 26.
Replacing Mower Deck Idler Pulley
NOTE: It is not necessary to remove spring
pressure to remove the idler pulley.
1. Park unit safely. See Using the Parking
Brake on page 13.
2. Remove center belt cover.
3. Remove nyloc hex nut (A) from top of
idler pulley (B).
NOTE: If necessary use a pry bar or
screwdriver to hold the round head square
neck hex bolt in the square hole in the idler
arm.
4. Remove the idler pulley.
5. Install new idler pulley on top of existing
spacer and tighten nyloc hex nut.
6. Check belt tension spring length (see
Adjusting Deck Belt Tension on
page 24).
7. Install belt cover.
