Overview

This document is an operation manual for the GREE Vita Heat Pump, designed for the Canadian market. It provides comprehensive instructions for the safe and efficient use, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various GREE heat pump and air conditioner models.

Function Description:

The GREE Vita Heat Pump serves as a multi-function appliance, capable of both cooling and heating, as well as ventilation and dehumidification. It is designed to provide optimal indoor comfort by adjusting room temperature and humidity levels according to user preferences and ambient conditions. The manual covers both Cooling Only Systems and Heat Pump Systems (115V and 230V), as well as Freematch Indoor Units.

Operation Modes:

The unit offers several operation modes:

  • Auto Mode: Automatically selects the best presets based on ambient room temperature. Users can adjust the set temperature in this mode.
  • Cooling Mode: Cools the room to the desired temperature and removes moisture from the air.
  • Drying Mode: Reduces air humidity to enhance comfort. Fan speed is automatically set to Low and cannot be adjusted.
  • Ventilation Mode: Blows uncooled/unheated air. Set temperature cannot be adjusted.
  • Heating Mode: Heats the room to the desired temperature. Includes a preheating delay (1 to 5 minutes) to prevent cold air from being blown into the room at startup.

Key Features and Usage:

  • Remote Control: The primary interface for operating the unit. It features buttons for power, temperature adjustment, mode selection, fan speed, swing functions (vertical and horizontal), timer settings, I Feel function, clock setting, sleep mode, WiFi control, health/scavenging modes, light control, and temperature display type.
  • I Feel Function: Allows the remote control to act as the primary temperature sensor, enabling the indoor unit to adjust its operation based on the user's immediate vicinity for enhanced comfort.
  • Timer Settings (TIMER-ON/TIMER-OFF): Users can set specific times for the unit to switch on or off. Both timers can be active concurrently.
  • Sleep Mode: Offers preset sleep curves (Sleep 1, Sleep 2) that automatically adjust temperature during sleep, or a customizable sleep curve (Sleep 3) where users can define temperature settings for up to 8 hours.
  • Turbo Mode: Activates super-high fan speed for rapid cooling or heating to quickly reach the set temperature.
  • Swing Functions (Vertical and Horizontal): Allows adjustment of airflow deflectors and louvers to fixed angles or continuous swinging for personalized airflow distribution.
  • X-Fan Function: Available in Cooling or Drying mode, this function runs the indoor unit fan for a few minutes after shutdown to dry the evaporator and prevent mold formation.
  • WiFi Function: Enables remote control of the unit via a smartphone or tablet using the GREE+ App.
  • Health / Scavenging Modes: Cleans the air by removing dust particles and germs, and/or replaces stale indoor air with fresh outside air.
  • Indoor Unit Display Setting: Allows users to turn the indoor unit's temperature and power indicators on or off.
  • Temperature Display Setting: Users can choose to display either the set temperature or the indoor ambient temperature.
  • Energy-Saving Function: Automatically adjusts the set temperature based on factory settings to optimize energy efficiency in Cooling mode. This function is not compatible with Sleep mode.
  • 8°C Heating Function: In Heating mode, the unit can automatically maintain an indoor ambient temperature of 8°C (46°F) to prevent property damage during extended absences. This function is not compatible with Sleep mode.
  • Control Lock Function: Locks the remote control buttons to prevent unintended changes to settings.
  • Temperature Measuring Unit Setting: Allows selection between Celsius or Fahrenheit for temperature display.
  • Self-Cleaning Function: Cleans the indoor unit's evaporator by alternating between fast cooling and fast heating to remove dirt and bacteria. Recommended monthly in dusty environments, or every three months otherwise.
  • Power Limit Mode: Limits the system's maximum output power, with two selectable levels (Power Limit 1 and Power Limit 2).
