What to do if my Greenlee Crimp tool is inoperative?
- LlauramontesJul 28, 2025
If your Greenlee Crimp tool is inoperative, the dies stop during operation, the battery load display flashes, or the tool loses oil, several factors could be at play. Start by charging or replacing the battery. If the issue persists, check the oil level and refill if low, ensuring the oil plug is properly installed. Air in the hydraulic system could also be the culprit; try pulling the trigger and holding the retract button simultaneously for about 10 seconds. Other potential causes include dirt in the ram area (clean the tool), damaged battery contacts (reform them). If these steps don't resolve the problem, it may be due to worn or damaged components or a damaged internal seal, requiring you to return the tool to an authorized Greenlee service center.
