      If the bar and chain on your GreenWorks Pro Chainsaw are running hot and smoking, it could be due to a couple of reasons. First, check the chain tension; it might be overtightened. Tension the chain. Second, the chain oil tank might be empty. Add bar and chain oil.

      If the motor runs but the chain is not rotating, the chain tension might be too tight. Also, dis-engage chain brake, pull towards front handle. Remove the battery from the unit. Take the bar cover off, and remove the bar and chain. Clean all debris from the chainsaw. After all debris is cleared, insert battery and run the chainsaw. If the sprocket is spinning your motor is okay. If the sprocket is not spinning, call customer service at 1-855-345-3934
