What to do if my GreenWorks Pro CS80L00 motor runs, but the chain is not rotating?
    • B
      Brandon GentryAug 5, 2025
If the motor of your GreenWorks Pro Chainsaw runs but the chain isn't rotating, the chain tension might be too tight. Also check the guide bar and chain assembly for damage or obstructions. Remove the battery, take off the bar cover, and remove the bar and chain. Clean all debris from the chainsaw. After clearing debris, insert the battery and run the chainsaw. If the sprocket spins, the motor is okay. Dis-engage the chain brake by pulling towards the front handle.

Why is my GreenWorks Pro CS80L00 Chainsaw bar and chain running hot and smoking?
    • J
      John SchroederAug 15, 2025
If the bar and chain of your GreenWorks Pro Chainsaw are running hot and smoking, it could be due to overtightened chain tension. Ensure the chain is properly tensioned. The chain oil tank might also be empty. Add bar and chain oil.

      Felicia GallowayAug 26, 2025
If your GreenWorks Pro Chainsaw motor runs and the chain rotates, but it doesn't cut, the chain may be dull. Sharpen the chain. Also, check if the chain is on backwards and reverse the direction of the chain if needed.
